j-rock band

I know this is an old issue but I still can't accept it out on why do the band put J in front of their bands name.

Their bands name is j-rocks..and they're Indonesian bands..not Japanese nor related with Japanese or even Japanese language.

Sorry but as my stupid head interpret..the word J is indication for Japanese as I am a fan of Japanese music industry especially J-rock(Japanese rock) music and for me, it's quite insulting as their name is annoying as hell.
